1972 Pontiac Grandville Second Pictures - 07/19/2014

We now move to the garage. It's been raining constantly, almost 2" over the last 2.5 days.

In the garage and wet.

Engine ready for an oil change.

Putting it up WAY off the ground.

Hey! It has the lights in the door!

Lights in door work on both rear doors. Driver's side rear door is rotten down below (as they all are).

Death by vinyl top.

Driver's door doesn't have working lights.

You can see where the water from the leaking (or lack of) roof has been getting on the seats.

A little gooey, starting to wipe it all down.

Gooey underneath too.

Dual exhaust needs help. Floors are good.

Spider is not amused.

Fram filter...

Hey! A transmission cooler!

Corrosion on all 3 of them.

Black and thin as water.

Front bumper has some rust.

Front fender has some rust.

Cowl has some rust.

Dual speaker metal dash.

Headlight bezels are very nice.

Grill is very nice.

Other headlight bezel is nice too.

Passenger fender ok up front.

Passenger fender rotten out back where metal trim plate collected dirt.

Passenger side cowl collects water and rusts out.

Other speaker!

Dash is in really nice shape. Carpet is not wet oddly enough.

No cracks!

Cadillac style map light.

Yikes.

Not so great.

Still not so great.

Rotten tail panel.

Both sides!

What's left of the C pillar isn't much!

New Wix filter.

Factory pre-heater shroud and hardware.

All linkages, solenoid, & spring for a 1972 carburetor.

Stupid 2 piece GM lug nuts.

Factory rotors, lots of grime and cobwebs.

Studs have seen better days.

Rear drum is good.

Mud daubers have been busy. Rear end is a 3.08 open.

"Needs exhaust"

Freed up rear brake shoes with lots of love taps back and forth.

Driver's side of trunk not too bad.

Passenger side appears not too bad.

Factory J-bolt and battery hold down.

Passenger side retains water!

Trunk lid is pretty nice.

Power trunk solenoid, still works!

Passenger side original rotor. Lots of compressed air to blow away all the grime and dirt.

Even more horrid GM 2-piece lug nuts.

"Really needs exhaust." Of note is the trailering hitch setup is welded to the frame. And since that was done, you can't remove the gas tank. Let us hope it never needs to come out!

Dirt dauber nests are removed.

Air shocks!

Tight fit...

It fits! Purple haze and all.

Pontiac garage once again.

Car is definitely rotten. Rotten in a bad way up top, but not bad at all down below.
