Vinyl tops. Bad news. Just how bad is it under there...?

That's not good...

That's bad too...

Oh man...

Just rip off the bandaid to find out how bad it is...

Well that's quite "hole"y as they say.

Not much hope for the back of the car either.

Pretty nasty.

Oh the humanity!

"Roof" in name only, or spirit.

Since the roof is officially "terminal" now it is time to document the scrapping process. Very little has been done on B-bodies over the years, so I'm going to photograph the heck out of the various options and how they go together in these cars. Here is the heated glass ground line on the passenger side of the glass.

It is grounded right here via the little screw. It slides through a hole by the window channel in the package tray.

The +12V on the driver's side.

Plugs into the purple wire below on the driver side. Trunk harness is right next to it as are the power trunk release and decklid light wiring.

Wire removed from channel. It's braid and solder.

Same for ground.

Glass removed and put away safely. Heater elements still worked amusingly enough!

Original butyl tape had an extra reinforcement in it it would appear.

What's left of the rear window channel, trim will be removed and came out easily enough and strangely wasn't rusted... You can see the bottom left shows that there is NO window channel left for most of rear glass.

The broadcast or build sheet for this car. Very highly optioned originally. The dealer listed is now a Nissan dealer less than 3 miles from my house.

Scrapping commences!
